INSPECTION PROCEDURE
In person inspection have resumed for both commercial and residential properties. Inspections will be performed under the following guidelines-during the given window, the inspector(s) will show up on site and all personnel and homeowners onsite must distance themselves from the inspector(s).

What requires a Construction Permit?
Listed below are (most) examples of what would require a construction permit however if there is ever a question on what might require a construction permit please contact our office before beginning any work.
Work such as fences, decks, shed, patios, additions, swimming pools, roofing, siding, finished basements, lawn sprinklers, most electrical and plumbing renovations, furnaces, a/c units, water heaters, etc.
What requires Zoning Approval
Zoning approval is required for patios, swimming pools, decks, sheds, fences, additions, driveway additions etc. again if there is ever a question as to whether or not your proposed project requires zoning approval please contact our office.
Housing/Rental/Apartment Inspections are to provide minimum, reasonable standards before the occupancy of a home/apartment
Housing/Rental Inspections – An “overall” inspection is done of the property such as electrical outlets, windows/screens, cooking facilities, bathroom facilities, basic maintenance of interior and exterior, etc. The housing inspector also checks smoke detectors(one on each level), carbon monoxide detector(s) and fire extinguisher. Fire extinguisher must be a 2A 10 BC and must be mounted in the kitchen no more than five (5) feet above the floor) Carbon Monoxide detectors are required in the hall of bedrooms, within ten (10) feet of each bedroom.
