The Burlington County Bridge Commission Department of Economic Development and Regional Planning is conducting a Transportation Study along County Route (CR) 541 between U.S. Route 130 and the Mount Holly By-Pass (5.5-miles as highlighted on the map below). The product of the study will be a Transportation and Circulation Plan for CR 541.
The Transportation Study first analyzed current traffic patterns and the impact of development on future traffic. The analysis indicates that without making any improvements to the transportation system, traffic congestion along CR 541 will worsen in the future. Using this information, feedback from the first public survey and two public workshops, the Burlington County Bridge Commission Department of Economic Development and Regional Planning has been working with the County Engineer and representatives from Burlington City, Burlington Township, Westampton Township and Mount Holly Township to develop potential solutions to address traffic concerns.
In the Fall of 2019, the Burlington County Freeholders released an online survey asking for public input regarding traffic concerns along this corridor. The public response was terrific as over 500 residents completed the survey. This second survey now presents potential traffic solutions and seeks additional public input. The results of this survey will help us to gain further insight for refining the potential solutions. After receiving input from the public through this survey, the recommendations will be finalized and the Plan will be provided to Burlington County and the four municipalities. The County and the municipalities will work together to implement the recommendations.
