BURLINGTON TOWNSHIP CORONA VIRUS UPDATE #10
STATUS OF RECYLING CENTER
We have received numerous inquiries regarding the reopening of the Township
Recycling Center. The status of reopening the Recycling Center is being evaluated every few
days. At this time due to the consistent increasing number of new cases of COVID19, and out
of concern for the health and safety of our residents, those who live in proximity to the Center
and Township staff, the Township Emergency Management team has recommended that the
Recycling Center will remain closed.
It is understood that there are many in the community who have cooperated in holding
grass clippings and other items which they would traditionally take to the recycling center and
have held them on their property. Those efforts are appreciated and we ask for your continued
patience. A plan has been developed to provide for a progressive re-opening that will endeavor
to allow our residents to use the facility while trying to limit long wait times and lines which may
cause large groups to gather outside the site. Those details will be provided once we are ready
to reopen the site.
The Township is also considering other alternatives in the event we are required to keep
the facility closed longer than expected.
