Walmart and Quest Diagnostics announce a COVID-19 Drive-Thru Testing Site in Burlington Township.
Burlington Township New Jersey— 5/20/2020 — Walmart and Quest Diagnostics have advised the Mayor and Township Council of their joint effort to provide a COVID-19 testing facility in Burlington Township. This center will be the Township’s first mobile testing site for adults in Burlington Township. Increasing access to testing is an important part of the Township's efforts to mitigate the spread of the coronavirus in New Jersey. The expanded testing opportunity is another step toward universal access to testing for all residents. The Testing Center will be located in the parking lot of the Burlington Township Walmart at 2106 Mt. Holly Road, Burlington Township, NJ 08016. The drive-thru site will be open Monday, Wednesday and Friday weekly from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m., weather permitting. NOTE: The site will be closed for Memorial Day, Monday, May 25, but will open Tuesday, May 26, from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. and resume its regular schedule on Wednesday. “This new testing site will help make testing more convenient and accessible for all our residents, especially people who are most at-risk from the virus,” said Mayor Carlin. “Given the number of confirmed cases in the Township and surrounding communities, it is an opportunity to expand testing to our residents. Not only does testing expansion help identify cases more rapidly and inform outbreak detection, it also continues to be an essential part of our overall strategy towards mitigating the effect of the virus in our community.”
The new testing center compliments the Burlington County COVID19 Mass Testing Center that is open every Tuesday and Thursday, to offer residents testing five days a week. The County site located at the Emergency Services Training Center behind the Burlington County Institute of Technology off Woodlane Road in Westampton has announced that it is accepting appointments for all Burlington County residents whether or not they are experiencing viral symptoms. The Department will continue its policy of testing non-resident first responders and hospital employees working in Burlington County who present their employee IDs.
